I have been accepted onto the Housing Register - how does it work?
Within each week there is a 5 day period when you can place bids for the advertised properties that you are interested in - this is called the ‘bidding cycle’. Each bidding cycle opens on a Thursday at 9am and closes the following Monday at 12 noon. This gives you a limited amount of time to think about the properties you would like to bid for, to consider the area in which the properties are located if you are not familiar with them, to consult with family and others including support workers and make arrangements for any help you might need with bidding and making your bid.
If you need help with bidding ask a friend, family member or support worker to help. They can bid on your behalf via the internet if they have your email address and your date of birth. The Housing Options Team of the partner with which you are registered will be able to assist if you have no one to help you.
If you bid for a property you must ensure that you can be contacted, preferably by phone or email, but otherwise by letter in case your bid is successful. If you are successful and the property is ready to move into the process can be very fast. For new properties it can take a bit longer because the homes are advertised before they are finished. If your contact details change please login to your account and go to 'My Details' to update your application.
